New Roots is a housing project, which offers a high standard
of accommodation with support to homeless or vulnerably housed
young people in Bassetlaw.
We offer a package of good quality accommodation along with
individually tailored support plans. These are reviewed regularly
to ensure your plan is working for you and can be reviewed any
time at your request.
Ultimately, it is the aim of New Roots to support all service users
in the development of independent living skills and making the
transition to suitable and permanent accommodation.
The length of stay is dependent upon individual need, but can
be anything between 6months and 2 years.
We have I.T. equipment available at our office for you to use.
It will be available to you to improve your I.T. skills, do college work,
apply for work or training or to access the Internet.
In addition to our experienced staff team, New Roots receives
support from a dedicated Management Committee who are drawn
from all sectors of the community.

Support We Provide
Tenants are allocated a named worker and together we will agree
a flexible support plan to meet your needs.
This may include support with:-
- moving in and acquiring furniture
- claiming benefits and grants
- setting up utility accounts
- budgeting and debt management
- emotional support
- understanding tenants rights & responsibilities
- accessing education, training or employment opportunities
- maintaining home security
- independent living skills
- referrals to other agencies and specialist services
- resolving disputes i.e. neighbour complaints
